Grace has spent years watching the wolves in the woods behind her house. One yellow-eyed wolf -- her wolf -- watches back. He feels deeply familiar to her, but she doesn't know why.

Sam has lived two lives. As a wolf, he keeps the silent company of the girl he loves. And then, for a short time each year, he is human, never daring to talk to Grace... until now.

For Grace and Sam, love has always been kept at a distance. But once it's spoken, it cannot be denied. Sam must fight to stay human -- and Grace must fight to keep him -- even if it means taking on the scars of the past, the fragility of the present, and the impossibility of the future.

I hope you're not tired with the werewolf things. If you are, please give this book a chance :) I can guarantee you that this book is worth a shot. The story is written in two point of views, Grace's and Sam's. When you read from Grace, you will not know what Sam is thinking, and vice versa. When you move to Sam's, the story continues, no longer telling you the same stage as the previous with Grace's. So that's what I like. Maggie somehow not blowing out all over. She is keeping me wonder what the other might feel and the story is not like moving in circle. It's a page turner!
Each main character's description is so strong. I usually hate the female main character, but here, I love Grace. In this chaos, she's not weak, independent, and she can be someone to rely on. I like how fast she reacted when Sam was turning into wolf as soon as they arrived at Beck's. Even what she did was hurt Sam emotionally, but no one can blame her. She did the right thing. What I like about this book is also its story. Can you imagine a love at the first sight which last for six years? Yeah it's so sweet. When the other books like to separate a couple with death or anger, Grace must say goodbye because it was the last time Sam turned into human. I like how Maggie successfully touched the most sensitive part of me. It's the relationship between Beck and Sam.

Beck was the one who raised Sam when he was six. Sam was tortured by his parents because he turned into wolf. Beck saved him. Beck was like a father for Sam. Beck said that Sam is the best among all. Beck's personality couldn't be differ from Sam's. Ohhhh i do hope Beck will be on the next book. I want to know him better. Unfortunately, Maggie seems only focus on Grace and Sam. Even their story is not boring, but I want to know more about the others. Like Isabel, who hated Grace at first but they became friends after what happened with her brother. I want to know more about Olivia who finally turns into wolf. Shiver is not focus on friendship, but it doesn't stop me for wanting to read the next book.

About the Author:
New York Times bestselling author of The Shiver Trilogy, The Raven Cycle, and The Scorpio Races. Artist. Driver of things with wheels. Avid reader.

All of Maggie Stiefvater's life decisions have been based around her inability to be gainfully employed. Talking to yourself, staring into space, and coming to work in your pajamas are frowned upon when you're a waitress, calligraphy instructor, or technical editor (all of which she's tried), but are highly prized traits in novelists and artists. She's made her living as one or the other since she was 22. She now lives an eccentric life in the middle of nowhere, Virginia with her charmingly straight-laced husband, two kids, two neurotic dogs, and a 1973 Camaro named Loki.
